Metal and colored pearls discolor when they come into contact with moisture, water, perfume, creams and sweat. This is completely natural, the metal darkens and gets a patina which makes the jewelry unique. It varies from person to person how quickly the metal becomes discolored. Sun and high humidity can also change the color of the metal. Never shower or bathe with your jewelry, it also wears out the wire. Store your jewelry in a dark and cool place in a jewelry bag/box/plastic bag. Stainless steel and sterling silver are good alternatives to metal. Stainless steel has a slightly darker color and neither rusts nor oxidizes. Sterling silver can turn yellow or darken over time but can be polished with our polishing cloths. Colored stones can also lose color over time and if they come into contact with moisture and water.
